Our Founder's Story
As someone with sensitive skin, Tamara Phillip, a St. Lucian, knew there had to be a cheaper and better way of making soap to suit her skin needs. So, she set out to create exactly that, a soap that would cater to her specific skin needs, while also keeping it hydrated and healthy.
After much experimentation and trial-and-error, she finally created the perfect recipe. She shared her soaps with her family, friends and co-workers in St. Lucia and their overwhelmingly positive feedback made her realize that there was a demand for these unique and high-quality products. They loved the way the soap felt on their skin, and even noticed a difference in how moisturized and soft their skin felt after using it.
Encouraged by their response, in July 2021 she decided to take the plunge, quit her job, and start her own natural, handmade, soap business. She poured all her energy and passion into creating a product that would be gentle and nourishing for all skin types. And the rest, as they say, is history!
In June 2022, the company branched out into candle making, using her expertise to create concrete containers to house the candles. The process of mixing and pouring the concrete was not only therapeutic, but it also gave her the opportunity to infuse her own personal style and creativity into the products. Every step of the process, from concrete mixing to pouring the wax and adding the essential oils, is done with care and attention to detail.
She takes great pride in knowing that every product that the company creates is crafted with love and intention. It's important to her that customers feel a connection to the products and the story behind them.
